John Deckert completed the required courses in drawing then promptly left the real world behind as he set off to commit drawing skills to the composition of abstract paintings.

In the early 1980s a re-dedication to the visual world led him to take up realistic imagery once again. Remarking the visual world with daily work demonstrates a commitment to fine draughtsmanship.
