I heard about Mare Island from some East Bay Artists called DA Group.  Quite a lively bunch of plein-air painters.  I found it by accident.  Once knowing the location and directions I just needed the right moment to turn off the highway.  What a great place.  I did some drawings you’ll see below.  I really want to go back for a painting or two.
